Product feedback is really valuable. Yet, if you can't distinguish between the types of users that provided the feedback, it's less useful.
That's why you're able to link user meta data to feedback you send in through Shipright Catch.
That way, you can indicate whom of your users provided the feedback, connect them to the company they work for (if you're in B2B), and add additional 'types' that might be useful for:
- Indicating a customer segment this user belongs to (e.g. Enterprise)
- Indicating a persona this user would match with (e.g. Hipster Designer)
- Indicating the subscription plan a user is on (e.g. Pro plan)
- ... and any other important characteristics of a user you'd like to segment your feedback by
Later on, you can use all of this meta data to filter your Requests. You can now easily display feedback provided by your 'Premium plan' users e.g. You can do this on the left hand-side of the Requests screen.
Do I need to log meta data manually?
You can log / add any meta data from the extension by hand. If you're already using Intercom and have a lot of your users (and meta data around those users) stored within the Intercom platform, you can use the The Intercom integration (other platforms like SalesForce will follow later)
The Intercom integration automatically syncs your existing users from Intercom. Once you're storing feedback through the Shipright Catch browser extension, the users that you have stored within Intercom, will also be available from the auto-complete menu.
When you pick a user, it will include all the meta data stored in Intercom. In your Requests overview, this can then be used to filter Requests, as shown above.
Do I need to log that meta data within the Catch extension each and every time I encounter feedback from a user?
No. Once you logged feedback from a particular user, the user will be stored within the Shipright app, including the meta data you stored with it (e-mail, company, types). The next time you encounter feedback from that similar user, you can just select it from the auto-complete menu, and you're done.
